No, my name isn't me being witty. It's my name. Techie, Baha'i, and Family guy living in Texas.
I’ve been running Fedora KDE spin for a few weeks now. It’s the only distro I’ve used that can’t handle running VSCode for some reason, it just runs up CPU and memory use, then will crash things, or be unusably slow. My days on Fedora may be coming to and end.

It looks like the filter on MB-Manager don’t catch everything.. will have to investigate further. I may have overcomplicated things.

Updated MB-Manager for Linux and Android is out. I added the filters for timelines similar to MicroBlog proper.

Watched: Avatar: Fire and Ash 🍿 last night with the family, did the full IMAX 3D shenanigans. It was fun, the movie was pretty good, so long though. But if you’re going to see a movie in 3D, it’s hard to beat Avatar.

The need for 12 people to Beta test your app before it can be released in the Play Store is sort of a big ask as a solo dev with obscure/niche apps.

Just Watched: The Smashing Machine 🍿

It didn’t do great in theaters, but I thought it was really good. I think the Rock did a great job.

Watched: The Forgotten Battle 🍿This was a really good movie. I really enjoyed the perspectives offered.

Though 90% was read in 2025, I guess this is my first finish of 2026, just got done.

Looks like I ended the year fairly eclectically.

I’ve been thinking about how to go about monetizing apps and making things available in general. I think if the time ever comes, I will charge a small fee for apps in the Play Store but always have them available to sideload for free from Github.

As I watched the cable guys run my neighbors new line my Internet went out. They then proceeded to say they did nothing, I called and there is no outage, but they can have someone here by Wednesday to check it out. Am still looking at two of their employees in my yard… @$&! 🤦‍♂️

Question for the writers here: When drafting professional pieces (articles, essays, short stories), what is your go-to format? Do you stick to Markdown, Rich Text, or standard Word docs? Thanks in advance!

Among my many projects, ‘Abbey’ is the one closest to my heart. Envisioned as a sanctuary for writers, I’m building it to be an essay-focused tool first. It’s a labor of love that I work on gradually, with the ultimate goal of creating the perfect writing environment.

I’m doubling down on Nostr development. Aside from Micro.blog, I think the protocol has a massive future.

I host my Nostr experiments and writing at Pleb.One. I just added the RSS feed to my Micro.blog Sources, so you’ll start seeing those dev updates syndicating here automatically.

Watched: John Candy: I Like Me 🍿

I knew very little about John Candy, but I always thought he was a genuinely great guy. This documentary confirmed it for me, and I am so happy I was right.
