We were still a force in the UCL then and three Vase finals to boot. Great place to watch a match. Sadly no more. An old chap carried the board then. Would always still be going round into the 2nd half. Got tangled up in the goal net once and the ref had to stop play.

We used to have a chalk board at Stamford. Used to take me well into the second half when the Railwaysiders decided to play up, old boys needing their readers or trying to locate their tickets.

Great new tune. Expected nothing less!!

Currently listening to some Jeffrey Lewis in advance of his Cardiff gig in a few months. Hadn’t realised he’d covered Stereolab’s Wow and Flutter. Not sure there are too many Stereolab covers out there….

I saw them around this time in the slightly less glamorous Granby Halls in Leicester. A great gig with support from The Railway Children (pre major label interference).

If my memory isn’t failing me, they wrote the song recounting an incident that happened to them but which no one would believe.

Such a shame we’ve pretty much said goodbye to the utility player

Am I the only who feels slightly uneasy about the butcher who claims to be a ‘deep freeze specialist’?
