Technically no vote is “veto-proof” in that if he decides to veto the bill they’d have to vote on it again in both chambers, this time with a 2/3rds supermajority required to pass.
With votes like these though, Presidents usually save themselves the embarrassment of being overruled by Congress.

Only because he successfully pulled a Cuomo, winning the general as an independent after he lost the Democratic primary for the Senate seat. He was officially unaffiliated for that term but still acted as a Democrat in most ways.

Remember that the original version of ACA had a public option and Joe Lieberman refused to be vote 60 unless that part was struck from the bill. It’s been sabotaged by Senate Democrats from the jump.

Either he organized it from behind the scenes (which looks likely because every single caver is either already retiring or not up for primary in the upcoming mid-term cycle) or he lost control of his caucus. Either way he should no longer be leading.

Because the “first past 50% wins all” electoral system we use doesn’t really allow more than two parties to exist over a long enough timeline. If you’re not represented by those two parties you either have to usurp an existing party from within or defeat a party so thoroughly that they dissolve.
