If you look at the bills proposed by Booker and others around SA, this type of educational resources was mentioned. Thus moves to require via NCAA reqs were addressing those to demonstrate action (ie. Core Guarantees).

When having to attest that something is provided, tend to provide yourself.

Regs came from SA voiced concerns that they were often unable to access these resources on campus due to schedule conflicts. Sometimes those offices are flexible & have offered options (satisfying regs). Others refuse, so Athletics has to. Athletics also tends to error on side of control.

So far I am becoming more keenly aware of the multiple lenses through which the use of wearable and performance tech need to examined. This article is a good primer on the topic and just how vast it is. Looks like a good bit more reading in my future.

As a STEM faculty member, I am extremely grateful for the humanities experience from SRC. The ability to critically analyze and write are vital to STEM, and currently missing at so many institutions.

These are vital for a successful & meaningful STEM education.

What I did find interesting is that the 1st run miscalculated # of class days. Used a 12 week semester vs 14, but it had the dates.

I then asked why it used 12 weeks instead of 14, and unlike my teenager, ChatGPT admitted a mistake and redid it without being asked.

It depends on the sport. Those MW afternoon classes are bad for golf, but great for baseball/softball. MBB/WBB playing W/Sat means TR are better options.
Very sport specific.

Thanks. The program will continue to exist and it has evolved. Just sad that the imaginative, risk taking school, where it was okay to fail and was such a critical piece in my own growth will be no more.

There are so many things from Simon’s Rock that have shaped me. Much of what I do in my classroom now comes from what I learned as a FR and SO in college.

It was like an academic version of the island of misfit toys, where you learned that critical thinking should be valued not jeered.

Sad day.
