Justifying the arbitrary killing and abduction of innocent women, children and elderly by terrorist commandos will not help your cause. And the response will be adequate.

A quick look at recent polls and public debates would give you a slight idea about the reasons why right wing parties are currently surging. Who could have thought that spray painting a beloved German landmark and costing tax payers a ton of money could backfire a little.

How exactly do you want to achieve political action in a democracy if your activism empowers right wing parties? Or do you really think these parties will pursue environ. friendly policies bc LG annoys some drivers in Berlin? The opposite is true: The more diversive LG's actions, the better for them

I don't really think so. Some people were annoyed and agitated against them, but overall I remember most people agreeing with the purpose and means of F4F. It certainly didn't result in widespread condemnation by most political factions.

It doesn't defeat the fact that LGs actions are obviously alienating large chunks of the German population. Creating more awareness for environmental issues is fine, but I can't see any measurable effect other than serving as promotion for LG and giving right wingers ammo to rally consv. voters.

The Pre Corona climate movement had broad societal support and a great image that everybody wanted to profit from. LG changed that, alienated exactly those "regular people" that must be convinced in a democratic society and drove a wedge between activists.
