Even better is avoiding the “magic numbers” in the code, e.g.,

for spaces, stars in zip(range(size + 6, 6, -1), range(1, size * 2, 2)):
etc.

I agree with your point, but JJ is 4-4 as a starter: wins against Chicago, Detroit, Washington, and Dallas, but losses against Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, and Green Bay.

To be fair, sometimes he isn’t wrong. But those times he’s lying, which is worse.
