And has Chris ever revealed details about the 'James Pond 4: The Curse of Count Piracula' game mentioned on his LinkedIn? If he worked on "concept, design, code and graphics", it sounds like it got to a fairly advanced stage of development, but I'm sure there's never been screenshots released.

Interesting stuff. Poor Chris. Definitely sad to see what happened. Have Gameware and/or System 3 given any response? I saw on the James Pond Facebook today that they will be contacting the games media 'soon' about the new game.

Maybe I spoke too soon. While I thought System 3 would be a better owner of the JAMES POND IP, its recent line-up is total trash. Including this upcoming game with screenshots showing a 'Covid Gun': system3.com/product/pipe...

I'd love to know Chris Sorrell's thoughts on all this!

Although interestingly, it looks like System 3 recently (May 2025) filed a trademark for JAMES POND? They were the publisher for the Switch port of Robocod in 2019. Hopefully they could give the rights to a better company in the future? trademarks.ipo.gov.uk/ipo-tmcase/p...

Of course, no problem -- it's a shame that this company has had the James Pond rights for so long (since the late 90s?) as Robocod remains one of my favourite games. And the rampant use of AI on Gameware's website and in its game trailers is legitimately gross.
