I understand the traditional Finnish approach is not to announce but to let you find out when they’re good and ready for to find out they’re around.

This, but replace “Finnish sniper” with “Honda Fit”.

The thing about Sweden joining in is: the Nordics are the ones used to operating in the sorts of inhuman conditions involved. They’re by far and away the most important. Their stuff works in that sort of cold, they know what to do. That should help anyone trying to take sense into maniacs.

The PSNI is the third-largest police force in the UK.

It is also armed.

The second-largest police force in the UK is Police Scotland, which, like the PSNI, operates in a different legal system. To what mayor is Police Scotland accountable?

We discussed our close economic cooperation.

And we also talked about security in the Arctic and throughout the North Atlantic.

I'm looking forward to continue our work on our ever-closer friendship.

What mayor controls the PSNI?

So, to be clear: your argument then is that Ireland is less centralised than the UK, is that correct? Based on that graphic?

Really.

Tell us, if you would, whose approval is required to appoint the head of the PSNI; and what is the structure of policing in the state with which the UK has a land border.

That the state should have ultimate control over those controlling the potential exercise of force in the name of the state seems axiomatic rather than something to fight tooth and nail.

There is no way you can look at NI, especially post-Brexit, and call the UK a unitary centralised state.

Does France have three separate legal systems?

Three devolved legislatures?

Because the UK does.

This is all so bananas, if CBP and ICE cause more instability and chaos around Minnesota this stuff is going to start impacting Western Ontario, Manitoba and if it spreads to the Dakotas and Montana even Saskatchewan quite soon

[And btw I entirely agree with you that it should not go to three Welsh teams, because quite apart from the damage to Wales, and to rugby, and quite apart from the moral case, it's too much damned faff and upheaval and on pure self-interest nobody needs that.]
