The Ducks are in a great spot for the future…but the “now” is rough.

Be excited about the little things going well, and have some patience with what is going wrong. This wasn’t ever supposed to be a playoff season.

Just stop giving Ross Johnston units OZ draws out of a commercial. Please.

Oof. Never got to finishing this.

It is entirely possible to keep and properly deploy all three as Centers. You just need the right supporting cast…something the Ducks currently do not have.

I’ve forgotten where I was initially going with this, so I’ll wrap it up by saying…

The elephant in the room: Trevor Zegras.

He prefer Center and, objectively, he plays better as a Center.

So how do you navigate a Center trio of Leo, McTavish, and Zegras? That’s a tough conversation to have, but it’s one that the sooner the team figures out, the better it is for the team.

Take last night for instance. The Ducks best chances came when Cronin finally jumbled the lines to flank Leo with Frank and Terry. Sure, they didn’t find the back of the net, but why not put your best offensive players in the best position to create chances?

If you think flanking Leo with Lundeström and Fabbri is a recipe for success, I’m not sure what you think you have been watching in Anaheim.

Leo thrives on having the puck on his stick and creating opportunities for his linemates. Lundy and Fabbri aren’t offensive players on Leo’s level

There is a lot to get to here, so let’s just start simple: Leo Carlsson is the player this team should be built around. Not Zegras, not Terry, not McTavish. Leo.

Part of that is recognizing the type of player he is, and surrounding him with complementary players that help him be his best self
