Just from the surface I always like to compare Zurich Airport and the SBB to Logan Airport and the MBTA. The SBB blows the MBTA away although Logan Airport is at least in sight of ZRH in terms of quality due to dramatic improvements by Massport.

GDP per capital is still lower unfortunately everywhere in Europe other than Switzerland. FWIW its worth Switzerland and Massachusetts are supposed to have the same GDP per capita. but CH always seems richer IMHO.

I am really starting to hate the State of PA. Fetterman, Linker, Longwell all losers. It's time to make fun of PA and its downward mobility like we do of Mississippi.

The really bad people are the Pennsylvania types like Damon Linker and Sarah Longwell telling the Macrons and Carney's not to personally attack Trump because it will offend PA voters.

It is already abolished at some airports like SFO(they have similar uniforms but they are not TSA screeners) but organized Labor would raise a fit.

Ironically trying to occupy Ottawa is probably more feasible than Greenland just because Greenland has no real population center and is just dozens of outposts separated by thousands of miles. You could invade Ottawa and at claim to control Canada.

Too many people would be calling on the US Military to disregard orders from Trump and it would just turn into a type of civil war.

My own view of a US invasion of Canada is it probably requires some type of declaration of martial law in the US first and putting the large number of politicians in the US who would oppose such a move into detention.

The question with Greenland is what does Canada do? Does Canada take it as an all out war between the US and Canada which I think would quickly devolve into a kind of guerilla civil war.

People of more modest means can travel to Canada. I do think Mark Carney needs to consider bringing back the GST Visitor rebate as David Frum has suggested. It was abolished because no one was using it and it cost more to run than any benefits it provided but things are different now.

Interestingly I have been hearing that after this summer's heatwave, orders for new AC units are way up in Paris. So whatever the "left" might be saying people are voting with there wallets.

Agree with this and will also point that many people on the left perhaps even more on the left than the right have had at least the hidden desire to conquer Canada.

Did Brightline ever sell itself as commuter rail? Anyways the "public service" obligation of its corporate predecessor the Florida East RR was long ago extinguished during the infamous strike of the late 1960s.

My congressman(Moulton) is pretty good on abundance related issues and is very coastal(like lives in walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean) Auchincloss is pretty good as well.

More telling is Maura Healey refused to endorse Mamdani and even suggested Eric Adams might still win. Healey has all the power in Boston not Wu.
