I am first European then Irish, my interests are history mainly European and North American, politics because you cannot escape politics and gaming. I have found as you get older it is easier to pretend you’re an adult.
Well his daughter ended up with stuff you most certainly should not trust and she died from it.

Very sad but ignorance born out of religion has consequences.

America elected a child, a nasty, ignorant, tasteless child.

It is inevitable that Trump will be written into history as a fool, as a crook, a fraudster, a name that will be associated with corruption on a scale never seen before.

The first hurdle is joining the EU so even if the UK applied now it would take a decade and that is assuming the EU would take any application from the UK seriously.

If we assume Labour applied tomorrow how great is the risk that Reform could muster more support even forming a future government?
December 22, 2025 at 10:50 AM
Typical just like discussing who England will play in the world cup semi-final before the competition has even started.

The existence of Reform and its rise in the polls is enough to make it a near impossibility for the UK to join the EU let alone leave again.

Really?

Strong Government has the power to do great evil or great good, the power to oppress or protect people.

Ye spent the whole time worrying about the danger of strong government and not enough time worrying about how dangerous it is to have a weak government.

I am Irish so I am guessing this means Mike Lindells chances have gone from no chance to below no chance.

But who knows in the USA.

We know exactly what Russia was before and after communism.

It was and is an expansionist empire that uses brutality to control those within and threaten those without, Its people are not like other people they are subjects of an empire that has not yet died.

What is this buying the legions loyalty?
December 17, 2025 at 11:48 PM
Disagree I think its a dead end, a customs union would be little more than a pier that reaches closer to the EU but its not a bridge that would allow the UK to crossover to membership.

A waste of time and creates little more then good arguments for not having one.
December 17, 2025 at 10:36 AM
I think the EU was initially shocked by this and also the arrogance that accompanied this lack of understanding.

In the end the EU convinced the UK to eat its Brussels sprouts and there would be no cake.
December 16, 2025 at 1:40 PM
Once the UK triggered A50 they essentially became a third country and would be treated as such during the negotiations, remarkably the UK government then acted as if it was still a member failing to grasp that the relationship had fundamentally changed.

I have come to the conclusion that the US treats these shootings as weather events acts of God tragic but inevitable, shrug their shoulders and wait for the next shooting.
December 15, 2025 at 8:05 AM
Trump is certainly pursuing his own interests at the expense of Europe but also of America however its clear that American citizens seem not to care and could again elect someone just as corrupt.

I see a Republican party full of cowards liars and trash and millions of people who will vote for them.
December 14, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Ultimately the UK and EU member states all need to confront their own commitments to a united Europe of some form.
December 14, 2025 at 11:16 AM
Agree the UK has placed itself in the difficult position (leaving the EU) of needing to prove a greater commitment from its citizens towards the values of the EU then some of the member states. The UK will need to more pro-EU outside the EU then some of the members inside the EU.
December 14, 2025 at 11:16 AM
First thought land of the free my arse?

Second thought expect some shooting today followed by heavy downpours of praying for the victims.
December 14, 2025 at 5:06 AM
I think its more than just a politica party that is a worry its that a large block of American voters seem to have regressed to before the age of enlightenment.
December 13, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Fellow European, he is despised as is his family and those who voted for him.

The USA is an enemy and like Russia is actively trying to destroy the EU.
December 12, 2025 at 10:42 AM

The privatisation of everything.

People all over the world can vote for idiots but got to say only in the USA could people be so stupid as to vote for that idiot.

|I do not see the point of the Bulwark having anything to do with laughing at or mocking this shit, it only devalues the conversation, you also become a participant in the stupefying of rational discussion.
