I like how FFGs Genesys/star wars system does attack and armour. It's one single attack roll, to determine damage and accuracy. Damage is then reduced by armour (soak).

I was obsessed with the show as a kid. I really love this.

I have a setup using a raspberry pi and open media vault and it wasn't that hard to set up. It was much cheaper than a pre built. I couldn't live without it now I use it all the time. I use NordVPNs meshnet feature to remote access it which is free.
