President Trump's plan to deploy the Oregon National Guard is unnecessary, unlawful, and makes Oregonians less safe.

We're asking the court to rule against the President's unlawful plan to target Portland. President Trump's deployment of Oregon's National Guard is unnecessary, unlawful, and makes Oregonians less safe.

President Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Portland could cost taxpayers up to $10 million. It’s not just an abuse of power—it’s a failure to focus on solving real problems. So we asked Portlanders: how would you invest that money?

President Trump’s unlawful federalization of members of the Oregon National Guard could cost taxpayers up to $10 million. Our country and our state should be focused on solving real problems. www.centraloregondaily.com/news/regiona...

Oregon is our home – not a military target.

Today, I was in downtown Portland walking peacefully with Oregonians to say that we don’t need military intervention here.
We are peaceful.
We are united.
We are Oregon.

There is no insurrection. There is no threat to national security. There is no need or legal justification for military troops in our major city.

My office is reaching out to the White House and Homeland Security for more information. We have been provided no information on the reason or purpose of any military mission. There is no national security threat in Portland. Our communities are safe and calm.

If you want to get vaccinated this season, you can in Oregon. West Coast Governors are making sure of it.

One of the best ways to support Oregonians facing mental health and addiction challenges is by strengthening our health care workforce. New legislation I signed will help recruit and retain more mental health professionals so people can get the support they need.

You can learn a lot about a city by who it cheers for, and Portland shows up for women’s sports. It’s who we are.

It's always great to be in Pendleton during Round-Up week, celebrating one of Oregon's most treasured traditions. The First Lady and I were so happy to visit with friends in Umatilla County.

Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and the families who grieve for them still. We honor the courage and selflessness of the first responders that day. May we strive for the kindness and strength shown worldwide in the face of that tragedy.

The attack on Charlie Kirk is inexcusable. Violence has absolutely no place in our democracy. America is better than this.

Rising costs are hitting families hard. Here in Oregon, we’re taking action to keep utility costs in check. New legislation I signed strengthens consumer protections and updates how the state regulates utilities, helping to lower your bills.

New Oregon laws set tougher rules for data centers, electric rate hikes
Gov. Tina Kotek signed four bills to reform utility rules, regulate large energy users and expand protections for Oregon residential electricity customers.

Every Oregonian deserves reliable, affordable energy, and this legislation moves us closer to that goal.

We know the challenges Oregon faces are real – and so is our resolve. Oregonians aren’t backing down from the work that matters, and I’m proud to stand with them.

I signed three bipartisan bills to improve mental health and addiction care in Oregon. Everyone should have access to help when they need it, no matter where they live or what they can afford. We are expanding services and strengthening our health care workforce.

Every American deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood and community. The President’s threat to deploy a state’s National Guard at will, and without that state's request, is an alarming abuse of power, ineffective, and undermines the mission of our service members.

I signed an Executive Order to ban student cell phone use during the school day in Oregon’s K-12 public schools. This will help improve focus, mental health, and safety—so every student can learn and thrive without distractions.

As Governor, K-12 education has been a top priority for my administration. I was joined by students, parents, and educators to sign four important bills that will invest in early literacy, reduce bureaucracy, ensure more predictable funding, and improve academic outcomes.

No Oregon public official or law enforcement officer is engaged in any activity to "obstruct" federal immigration efforts. The state does not take on the additional expense or burden to perform federal immigration enforcement as it is the job of the federal government. www.koin.com/news/politic...

August is National Water Quality Month, and Oregon is taking action. I signed new laws to strengthen groundwater protections with a faster response to contamination and to require well water testing by landlords. Every Oregonian deserves clean, safe water.
