Just finished Turns of Fate, the first book in the Isle of Wyrd series by Anne Bishop.
Can't remember the last time I got so immersed in a book I had to force myself to stop reading and pace myself.
I loved her 'The Others' series and this reminded me a little of that series.

ARGH! So good. This writing team writes exactly to my happy place. Now I sit impatiently and wait for the next one. I am so invested in Ada (and Bear!) and what she will do next.

Re-reading The Apocalypse Troll by David Weber.
I love how the main character is hanging out in his sailboat kinda enjoying some downtime and a frickin' alien invades! And then we get taken on a typical Weber story of 'don't piss off the wrong person' because that person will end you.

From Aliens when they are told they can't use their weapons to fire on the alien. Frost's line and the line delivery was perfect.
