Gotta give this one to Ghost Hound, which I stumbled across pretty much at random from a list of titles when I was in college. It's a paranormal/psychological horror in a rural Japanese village, moody and low-key- somewhere in the neighborhood of The Summer Hikaru Died and The Mothman Prophecies.

In most birds, feathers that are blue, green, or purple are the result of structural color- the actual underlying feathers are black or brown, but trapped air bubbles create an iridescent effect that reflects specific colors.

This guy!!! Sometimes a good Pokemon is a slightly opaque reference to Japanese animal folklore and got their episode of the show yanked from the air due to being Too Soon to real-life natural disasters.
