My family cannot handle momentary silence and when they put on music to fill space it is always at full volume and I am white knuckling this day in a way that is new and exciting

I feel this way at work a lot too. Like, I'll acknowledge that I'm quicker to overwhelm recently, but there's a lot of moments lately where I legitimately can't understand how people can hear each other

Part of the reason I'm interested in getting into the industry is that so many people I follow are obviously part of such a cool and supportive community! Buncha principled hardworking nerds

The big picture and the future still hold many mysteries, but for now Mom is doing very well considering her illness. Come next week, she will be in her own home for the first time since March.
