My personal concern is that this isn't a one-time thing; they say "first" in the top post for a reason. The fact that they are still engaging with customer-first trends is why I haven't dropped my sub over this, but that doesn't negate that they are now starting to permanently paywall pieces.

I was basing my comment off the responses surrounding the survey (like Reddit/Twitter where people will happily voice opinions), so if there was a silent majority that was all for it, that's not data either of us have (so I will concede my comment of them going against the results was presumptuous).

just as a note; people *did* speak up during that survey, with most folks (from what I can tell) saying in no uncertain terms that they were opposed to it. So unless I'm mistaken with that information, part of the issue comes from the fact that this goes directly against the results of that survey.

Figuring out how to disable as many monster mechanics as possible without sacrificing damage is half the fun for me

possibly odd answer: sittable chairs. Meeting up with some friends + a couple of strangers is one thing, but it's a whole different experience when you're all actually sitting at a table together. Maybe it's the RP; maybe it's just the intentionality of "we aren't here randomly, we chose to be here"

Ah yes, Blue in the Big Bear House

I mean, even it isn't *too* far off, since in both you're collecting ever stronger and more varied 'things' to face ever stronger and more varied opponents, it's just that one is your collection of monster friends and the other is your collection of Hunting Horns

Have you considered that, like a pokemon, you may have multiple type weaknesses?

Okay, but I unironically believe that the 4th DT raid is peak healer content. Rarely have I consistently felt the high as as healer that I feel when doing that final section

I want you to know this tweet is how I found out you're on bluesky. I read the message, thought something was suspiciously familiar, then went to check who sent it.

This sounds like a good opportunity to go full Beastars and celebrate Dinosaur-Christmas

don't remind me of this; you're putting my poe2 fixation at risk
December 13, 2024 at 3:22 AM
I know it's not quite a pattern until there's a third, but I'm starting to think you have a thing for lizard-men who will defend you from your enemies (or at least fight them with you)

Even with BG3 being a huge success, I still call Divinity Original Sin 2 my favourite turn-based rpg (although that might come from it's modding scene). If Xcom 2/Enemy Unknown count, they're also good fun; but I'm hesitant to call them RPGs like I'm hesitant to call Skyrim a stealth shooter.

any character creator is a 100 hour game if you're indecisive enough (like me)

I will be interested as to what Melee is like in PoE2, since melee feeling really bad in PoE was supposedly the first domino that led to PoE2 existing, so you would hope that it's gotten better

BEHOLD! AN EGG!

While Blackwings were my first deck and Mythical Beasts are my favourite *decent* deck, I just keep coming back to the Pyramid Shuffle and refusing to give up on it, regardless of it's terribleness

Favourite card? that can differ from week-to-week, but at the moment it's Wandering Mummy. As for why? I implore anyone who cares to look up the cards who share his flip face-down effect along with Exxod and tell me that it doesn't look like a fun casual deck where you keep shuffling your face-downs

oof, that hits right in the nostalgia

I would argue the humble backpack could rival it; once players start seeing it as an item itself and not just an explanation as to how you're carrying everything, it opens up a *lot* of options

oh yeah, the WHM dash has actually been really nice to use (especially with how much empty space we have in the rotation due to not having that many oGCDs)

Honestly really glad that ttrpgs can be so wordy right now; I might not be able to stick my head in the sand for a few days, but I sure can stick it into a few hundred pages of rules and character creation
