There is something about the laundry robot claims that makes me bitingly frustrated. Of course it can't fold a shirt; we don't even have a robot that can sew a shirt yet. The garment industry rests fully on the shoulders of humans who can push two pieces of cloth through a serger over and over.

It's always the birds. One that particularly struck me was the recording of a loon used for generic French birdsong in "1917." I sat up in my chair like I'd heard my activation code.

I don't know if Scott is still looking for anime recs, but see "Tokyo Godfathers". Satoshi Kon was a generational talent; all four of his movies are bangers, but I think "Tokyo Godfathers" is the most accessible.
