But truly, the mistake many people make is thinking Taylor Swift is cool or hip because she's commercially successful. She compulsively makes music to process her feelings and she's a huge dork. She used to write love songs as a teen to try to relate to others. Now she's hyperfocused on sourdough 🤷‍♀️

On Actually Romantic, she responds to a musician who publicly and privately bashed her by saying all the attention and effort she gave her was actually sweet and romantic and feels "like you're flirting with me"

Lazy is the last word I would use for the work she created while actively on world tour, flying straight to Sweden after every 3-day streak of 3.5h performances to spend her 4 days off in the studio for weeks on end

Like there are videos, audio clips, voice note recordings she publishes as bonus content on her albums where you can hear her come up with melodies and workshop the lyrics with her producers. It might not hit for everyone, but every bit of it is very intentional

I'm honestly surprised someone could think this. The only song I could imagine evoking this is Eldest Daughter, but the 'disjointed' contrast between trendy language and her own dramatic way of speaking is the point there. But it's easily disproven bc she publishes recordings of writing sessions

if there's one thing that'll always make me feel better when people are being stupid on the internet, it's my boyfriend (who studied arts and culture studies at uni) and his best friend (a music producer and just overall intelligent guy) giving me solid academic language to express EXACTLY how dumb

offering a security guard for the guy who got to pick up the music for their station from the hotel is the wildest part of this to me. Tree personally sitting people down with an iPod isn't that surprising, but TS team offering a security detail??? 😭😭
