In retrospect the Silksong run back discourse is extremely funny considering that three weeks after that game launched we got Baby Steps, a game that is basically nothing but doing tedious run backs every time you make a minor mistake

Torn between being glad that Los Angeles got a win and feeling bitter that America got one

Major whiplash seeing Bugonia while watching through Friday Night Lights. Jesse Plemons has now portrayed every variety of awkward American man using the same minimalist acting techniques, from the adorably dorky to the violently unhinged

The key tonal difference between the Hollow Knight series and Dark Souls is that Dark Souls’s melancholy is tinged with the eerie and sinister, whereas Hollow Knight’s is tinged with sadness and whimsy. They’re on a similar emotional register, but ultimately evoke completely different feelings

So funny playing RE2 having already played RE4 and watching Leon be like “ahhh what is that?! Scary!” at every monster. Like, buddy, don’t even worry about it. You are superhuman. You could literally kill God

It’s 2015. The Croods is the #1 movie on Netflix.

I’m like 12 episodes into Attack on Titan and I’m already over Eren. Stop screaming about cowardice and duty and just beat up the monsters you little turd

Genuinely don’t get why they’re holding Donkey Kong a month. As is there’s no Switch 2 exclusive single-player killer app at launch. Did they forget about how many systems BOTW sold

Thank you Nintendo for a launch line-up that looks just average enough that I’m not wildly disappointed but also happy to wait a year to buy the console. The sweet spot

Black Bag also a perfect example of why movie stars are such a necessary part of the film ecosystem. Most of the cast occasionally fumbles Koepp’s hyper-mannered middlebrow dialogue, but both Blanchett and Fassbinder make it sound like the sexiest language in the world. You can’t teach that

Black Bag may be one of the great films about monogamy, a relationship, its many trade offs, and the implicit trust needed to make it run as so many sleek surfaces, coiled performances, and contradictory, jazz-set, cross-cut lies. And somehow it’s kind of hot??? Magical

Something so satisfying about checking off icons in an open world game. If I do it for more than an hour at a time I wanna die, but that hour is bliss

Being “killed” and left for dead is a classic act one trope, but the similarity between the camera angles in Fallout: New Vegas and Cyberpunk 2077 when the protagonist gets shot is a bit sus imo

Mickey 17 feels weirdly slack for such a bonkers idea, but I still love when Bong makes a movie seemingly just so a bunch of famous actors can act absolutely off-their-rockers nutty on a big budget

That Thunderbolts* trailer where they name drop a bunch of A24 movies is so desperate, man. Marvel isn’t even pretending to lead culture anymore, they’re literally trying to ride the coattails of 5 year old indie hits

Light Yagami is a great character in part because he’s a perversion of the typical shonen protagonist. Like the archetype he’s an everyday teen who achieves big things by believing in himself, but unlike the archetype he’s also a manipulative narcissistic sociopath

Art forms don’t die, they just transform. Ballet and opera may no longer dominate culture, but they live on through John Wick

First 10 episodes of Death Note maybe the greatest anime ever made, make more TV about sociopathic goth twinks trying to outwit each other
