I feel such dread logging in every morning now. Nothing but stress and dark clouds. Between this, the closing of the long COVID clinic, the 2 NOTs today, and the flurry of grant “emergencies” - I’m just not good. It’s all unnecessary.

Before anyone forgets… MTG cropped a photo to make it look like a subpoenaed witness was giving the finger. She introduced this to congress as proof of character.

The coach was actually giving the peace sign. Lying like this should come with a penalty.

Anyone know what the flag of the country of Mattel is? From what I understand, it’s on the continent of Hasbro, and it has two kings - the Parker Brothers.

I was trying to explain to your typical, “Poor people should just buy healthy food,” blowhard what food deserts are.

I got the typical, “That’s just crime filled Dem cities.”

I shared this map.

He replied that, “Those are just rural places where people can’t buy cars.”

So close to getting it.

No backing down.

I had to start working at 14. I was a dishwasher and a fireworks girl immediately after school got out.

I wouldn’t get home until after midnight, exhausted, stinky, and debating between a shower and homework. Had to get up at 6 for school the next day.

It was horrid. www.cnn.com/2025/03/25/b...

1. Today the NIH director issued a new directive slashing overhead rates to 15%.

I want to provide some context on what that means and why it matters.

I haven’t hardly caught my breath since the overhead cost change from the NIH came out.

I keep thinking about my colleagues, the research we are doing, and, yes, my rent.

I do what I do because I believe in it. I could be doing better in industry. But this is more.

And it’s going away.

I’m not saying that like minds are all in the same camp, but every post I’ve seen opposing work from home has had multiple comments agreeing and adding that women should know their place as mothers and homemakers and not be career minded or in corporate America.

Wonder why?

We have several training grants going in this week.

The generation of scientists who are now delayed have already been delayed by COVID.

The careers of the admins and educators have already been delayed.

We have already put ourselves back years in experience and research.

It is unnecessary.
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

Fascinating that someone said to show mercy - a word used over 300 times in the Bible, and certain Christians are up in arms.

As one brought up Christian, I was always told to be merciful like Jesus. I’m not sure why they all missed that.
