The coherence of almost everyone's worldviews depends on a certain looseness of language. When language gets more precise, the conflicts and contradictions become more clear. They problems don't disappear, they come into better focus.

What good will a machine who knows the truth do for people whose political views depend on falsehoods?

I wonder how much vision correction has changed human mating behavior. Does seeing other people with improved acuity change mate selection?

Evolution does not guarantee the perfection of any design, or even high quality; only the adequacy of most individual creatures to keep reproducing. Individual body parts can be quite imperfect, even counter-productive, as long as the whole creature keeps going.

When a football player scoring a touchdown points to heaven, are they claiming God acted through them? Are they claiming we just saw God at work, through their body? Not a very humble claim, is it?

I won a Sangean RCR-22 Radio-Alarm Clock at my local auction. It sets itself to the time signal from the atomic clock in Boulder, Colorado, about 1700 miles away from me. At first it didn't work, and I had to set the time manually, but overnight it found the signal and has worked perfectly since.

One reason there are many Windows 10 machines that users are reluctant to upgrade to Win 11 is that these are really Windows 7 machines that barely ran Windows 10.

The internet was intended to be redundant, not efficient.

The www was purposely built with redundancies. Removing inefficiencies destroys the internet.

The Trump Administration is not hiding Trump's condition from the media. The media is hiding Trump's condition from its viewers.

The JWST Discovered Another Perplexing Early Galaxy
The JWST has made a name for itself by discovering mature galaxies in the Universe's early times. This time, a pair of Indian astronomers working with the JWST found a fully-formed spiral galaxy much ...

Do Presidential historians object to Trump taking two numbers? Re-elected presidents don't get two numbers. George Washington 1,2, Thomas Jefferson 4,5, etc.

It's a short step from, "I didn't win that bet," to "Maybe the game was rigged."

When I heard about autographed Bibles, I was hoping Jesus Christ himself signed the book. Or if wasn't signed by Jesus, at least there should be a Certificate of Authenticity for real signatures from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Imagine my surprise when I found out the Devil signed the Bibles!

The problem with conflict of interest? Public officials have sworn to use their governmental powers in the public's interest, and not use their government powers in the possibly conflicting interests of other private persons.

Trump fatigued? Ridiculous NYTimes!
Fatigue happens after hard work.
Trump is just old and decrepit.

Reading about the effects of AI on mental health reminds me of working at Kinko's in the 1980s. Xerox machines were a similar attractor and force multiplier for troubled individuals. On the night shift I watched them typing and copying the letters they later slipped under the professors' doors.

In second grade my teacher said that every sentence that starts with the word "what" is a question. I spent the rest of the day trying to think up counterexamples, instead of paying attention in class.
What I mean to say is that I am still like this, 60 years later!

How different Christianity would be if it could just dump Paul! Is there any Christian denomination that has tried to do it? It would take fine surgery to excise all the threads of Paul from the rest of the corpus, probably impossible now.
