There has been a lot of talk of "serial killer" genes, but in reality, it's just about alterations of neurotransmitters that might make one more impulsive and aggressive. But, if we add in decreased detox (glutathione production) and environment triggers, perhaps there's something to uncover.

Caroline Fraser's book "Murderland" provides a fascinating look at the possibility that smelters in the Pacific Northwest may have contributed to the development of a string of serial killers from the area. A quick check suggests the same may be true for the many serial killers from the Bay Area.

Riddle for the day: The man who took the name "the Zodiac" never used the name the Zodiac Killer, but at the time of one of his killings, he was the Zodiac Killer. How can this be?

I wanted to see if there were any posts on my main area of expertise, so I typed in "The Zodiac," and got a bunch of astrology stuff. Apparently, you have to type in "Zodiac Killer." He never once called himself the "Zodiac Killer." I'm not a fanboy, but it is important in finding his identity.
