The U.S. imports $142B from Vietnam; they buy $10B from us. That’s $425 per American vs. $100 per Vietnamese. For parity, every living person in Vietnam would have to spend $1,806—4.25x more than we do—and do that based on hourly wages of $3 for those able to work. It’s absurd on its face
