I leave the old ones on until it's fully dried out. Cause the plant will use the nutrients left in the dying leaf. Once it goes yellow it'll never be green again. It's fine to trim it if you want to keep the plant looking all green. Just use sharp scissors or shears.

Could be normal these plants will drop their oldest leaves from time to time. To focus on new growth. If a bunch turn yellow then maybe look at the nutrients in the soil
