I had a woman say after I’d done a poetry reading that she couldn’t believe I had written the poem I just read and (with tears in her eyes) she really couldn’t believe I read it aloud in public! I touched her shoulder and said: “That’s why.”

Examine your feelings and be honest with joy and pain.

I thought NaNoWriMo shut down? Is there an alternate site or a happening? I’ve been mourning the loss of it.

I published/edited a small press magazine years ago when I worked in an academic library. A coworker sent me a short story. I rejected it. He confronted me angrily. I explained why I rejected it (again) and he said he would send it to a ‘real’ magazine. It didn’t sell.

As a writer I can take this two ways, the first being 😮 that after all that work you read it incredibly FAST! But the other reaction is—it was so great/exciting/unputdownable ☺️ that you read it incredibly FAST! 😁
