Lots of talk about the loss of soft power, but this is astonishing and will cripple future US development.

#disinformation & cyber insecurity will impact #cdned students (top 10 short & long term) - yet neither are given space to develop into interdisciplinary critical skills in #cdned.

The #digitaldivide is widening in #Canada and the impact to #cdnpoli is devastating.

Openmedia's analysis is a decade out of date but there is little reason to believe we did much about it in the meantime.

Raises questions about how much Canadian data boomerangs through the US. I'm willing to bet it's the majority between eastern and western Canada.

A Ph.D. in cybersecurity strikes me as similar to a Ph.D. in teaching. I'd rather be doing it rather than observing and talking about it.

The future of privacy in education? Surveillance programs in the classroom will at least prepare students for their role as techno-serfs in the workplace.

The willingness to fabricate data for marketing makes this a difficult read. What is the future of pedagogy if any of this is acceptable?

You've got game!

I hope it encourages more Canadians to consider the many opportunities this pathway offers.

This week in NL:
Bald eagle
Moose
Great cormorants
A wolf! (Running across the road at dusk on the way to Cape Spear)

All of which were lovely, but this one was something special. He followed me around Signal Hill for 20 minutes!

"Parts of the web appear to have stopped working amid a technical problem at Cloudflare."

How long are we going to keep shoving our infrastructure onto this rickety house of cards we've built for 'convenience'?

Daniel Suarez wrote us out of that trap with an #AI that forced a clear choice between regionally empowered local democracies and globalism and the authorititarianism it will always spawn.

Maybe Skynet will save us rather than destroy us - but we need a visionary who isn't a myopiic greed monster.
