E. coli can modify their ribosomes by shedding specific chemicals in response to antibiotics like streptomycin and kasugamycin, making the drugs less effective. This adaptive mechanism represents a novel way bacteria develop resistance, posing challenges for combating AMR.

So long, London! Headed back to DC soon. It’s been a great trip from Paris for #KLEBS2024, train to London and we visited Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Tower Bridge. Then rented a car and spent the last two days of our trip in the Cotswolds.
