My understanding is that the EV tariff won't be completely removed, but down to 6.1%. Good article here: insideevs.com/news/784657/...
Mexico is also allowing more Chinese EVs into their country.
Canada Just Opened The Door To Cheap Chinese EVs
Breaking with the U.S., Canada will slash 100% tariff on Chinese electric cars, opening the doors to imports that cost less than $25,000.

I did see that Canada will cap the number of imports from China to 49,000/year. @jimfarley.bsky.social just made the stupidest decision to throttle down EVs and increase ICE vehicles. The outlook for U.S. auto makers is getting worse with decisions like Farley's.

It will be interesting to see if Jim Farley supports the Union worker who correctly called Trump a "pedophile protector" or if he will again capitulate. Hopefully Farley realizes that there are thousands of Ford owners who are watching to see what he does & that it will affect future auto sales.

Gosh, Jim. How about making electric SUVs? You have totally dropped the ball by stopping production of electric vehicles. You're down to 2 products, the Mach E and the Transit. You don't see Hyundai or the Chinese slowing their EV production.

Ford and GM committed massive blunders by slowing or stopping their EV production. @jimfarley.bsky.social has conceded the future of auto manufacturing to China. Norway new car sales 96% EV, China 60% EV, Europe 25%. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tla8...

How about getting the engineering from Ford of China & make the Bronco EV here in the U.S.? It is 10 inches longer than the U.S. Bronco. The problem is that you aren't making what people want. You say Americans don't want EVs, baloney. They don't want what you are currently selling. cnev.co/jfh3r62
Ford begins pre-sales of electric Bronco in China, starting at $32,320
The electric Bronco starts at RMB 229,800 ($32,320) during pre-sales, offering both EREV and BEV options.

The "skunk works at Ford" has no new product in 4 years. We keep hearing about this great new architecture which keeps getting postponed. Hey @jimfarley.bsky.social why don't you take the engineering from Ford of China for this new EV Bronco and make it in the U.S.? cnev.co/jfh3r62

Agreed. New vehicle sales in China are 50% EV, Europe 25%, U.S. 5-7%. @jimfarley.bsky.social conclusion = Americans don't want EVs. Ford has reason to worry about China & Farley just made a stupid decision that will see Ford going out of business or acquired by the Chinese in less than 10 years.

@jimfarley.bsky.social says people don't want EVs. The problem is that Ford isn't making what people want, a 2 row SUV EV. I see Ford thinking like Kodak when digital cameras came out, "people don't want digital" or when Apple came out with the I phone, Nokia didn't think people wanted those either.

You would hope that @jimfarley.bsky.social would see this and since the engineering is already done start making them in the U.S. They would sell quickly.
