It was a Canadian production and aired on the CBC during the holidays right after Charlie Brown and the Grinch - 8 year old me thought Eliot Gould was the coolest mfer ever and Christopher Plummer was awesome as 🎅

Was also feeling hints of Childhood’s End, the Lathe of Heaven, and obviously Invasion of the Bodysnatchers especially the 78 version. Also abundantly clear that nothing else “looks” like a Vince Gilligan show.

For some inexplicable reason, Sensei’s last scene in the film where he is pulled over by the cops really ties everything together somehow - for me anyway. BDT is so good in this. Ocean Waves 🌊

I loved finding copies of the Sandman as a kid at the used book store that always had a pile of old comics for a quarter each-and then last year paid $25 for a copy of #1.
