But what I love about Steinbeck's retelling of this period is the kindness those most affected and with the least to give extended to others. It was the only way to get through then, and will be the only way through what is to come. Be kind. 3/3

I am now reading Grapes of Wrath. While I do not think we will suffer another dust bowl, I do think it is more likely than not that we will experience significant economic hardship. 2/3
