Yeah, I felt that all model's Stata abilities were severely lacking compared to other languages - stopping hallucinations was exactly my aim! I haven't played a lot with skills yet, but I do expose the help docs to the agent through the MCP in the hope that they will use it.

All I needed was the server when I wrote this, and an extension came 'free'.

I've tried to make my extension faster & easier (for standard workflows), but stata-mcp is great too!

I did - mine separates the MCP and the VS Code extension side, so that this MCP server can be used independently.

The backend is very different (stdio vs. SSE), so there should be noticeable speed/efficiency gains.
