Plus some detail shots of the pad stitching of the felt padding. I should have attached it before I sewed the lining an outer layers together, but since I thought to add it later I shimmied the felt in between and then stitch it onto the lining from the outside.

Had a great time cosplaying him with my Hobbit friends and Sauron at Planet Comicon Kansas City. The beard threatened to suffocate me with yarn fly aways, but we persist.

Jayce officially absolutely not getting finished for Planet Comic Con. Therefore, Gandalf arises. Big bits (robe and hat) in a week with one king size bedsheet, a bottle of RIT dye, and a dream.

Still have to make a fuck-ass beard and dress my cane like a wooden staff. Then he will be complete

Working on Jayce's front panels.

The curved panel is a bitch to put in, but it needed to be a separate piece so I could add in the dart that goes up from it. Did a flatfelled seam on the inside to finish, cutting notches along the curved bit to prevent puckering.

Fabrics are: cotton blend sateen for the exterior, a polyester microsuede for the sleeve lining, and a plainweave cotton for the rest of the lining

Might dye the blue fabric a little darker. It's not quite as saturated in person, but still 🫤
