I want you to win. Views are my own or those of Scotch whisky.
This is still fundamentally mistaken. The wealth gap, tax breaks, etc are all large problems, but not because we need their money. The core problem is wealth disproportionately delivers undue and unjust political power.

Elon’s opinion is worth more than yours because he has cash? Please, no.

I agree we shouldn’t be funding that. That is a different question than “CAN we fund that?”. We can fund whatever we have the resources for the funds to act upon.
My point is around the fallacy that if we fund one thing, we cannot fund the other. Should we fund is a completely different question.

We need to tax billionaires more NOT because we need their money to have nice things, but only to limit their political power.
January 13, 2026 at 1:47 PM
This may sound crazy but that site is about political processes, not how money actually works. It is only lack of political will that prevents us from funding anything for we have resources. Whatever is achievable is affordable.
We are constrained by resources, never money.

I do know this. But until we get honest about how money works, the Left will be always playing the Right’s game. “If you can fund ICE, you could fund Healthcare!” This take is exactly wrong. We COULD fund both as long as we have the resources to deliver.
January 13, 2026 at 1:41 PM
This is a powerful message, but AOC knows it’s untrue. There is no finite pool of $. The U.S. is a currency issuer, hence we are not pulling from one budget (healthcare) to fund another (ICE). She KNOWS this.
I agree with her sentiment, but let’s be honest on how money works.

My son and I went to see Oasis this Fall. Road trip from Boston to NJ. Unsure why 23-28 year old love Oasis, but I am here for it. Maybe because there are no rock bands anymore. We ended the year playing an Oasis song together with my band. ❤️

Imagine deferring to Epstein on decency. We know for Trump there is no floor. It is his acolytes that deserve even more disdain.

He likely isn’t. I mean how much does he owe Putin and the oligarchs?

I realize one’s livelihood depends upon followers engaged, thus ad revenue, but this take should be career ending. In all parallel universes this would be called self-immolation. But somehow, Megan lives in this one. Carry on.

Coordinated calls of opponents retarded or telling women they are stupid won’t make us forget the Epstein files.

Got off X last year. Life demonstrably better. If you are at home thinking about it, do it.

Because that is not how it works. Taxation on the Fed level does not “pay for” ANY federal program. (Unlike state taxation at the state level)
The Fed spends money into existence.
The reason the Fed does not fund any relief programs is only because they lack political will. They do not lack $$.
