The article says that Epstein abused “underage women”, not quoting another source. Would these not actually be “girls” or “teens” or “adolescents” or “children”?

Any idea what the difference is between rural middle America and working class country?

Assuming someone would carve either! I’m picturing it now.

SNAP is great, and so is WIC, but they’re different programs.

Happy birthday!

Well sure, but that still doesn’t mean we know his motive or his personal politics… yet. People, especially teens and young adults, do differ from their parents. If you were to judge my kids’ politics based on my ex-husband, you would be sorely misled.

Yes, they did. Now it’s up to us to not jump to any more conclusions without evidence. For all we know he was taking orders from an invisible Teletubby.

The Trump costume and Slavic squat/pepe meme mean nothing either way owing to his age and his hometown.

As a parent of a young man with a gun loving deputy sheriff as a dad who loved Trump paraphernalia as a middle-schooler, a whole lot can change in 8 years. These pictures are old, and in my deep red community, political memes are fashionable just like JNCOs were in the 90’s.

Still not convinced

On Bluesky, your readers never believed him in the first place. Please help fight the authoritarian takeover with leadership and direction, not just pointing out the obvious.

I disagree. Most of us regular working folk have our retirements in mandatory 401k’s that we have no control over. If you want to think of this mob-style racket as a tax, then it’s on all of us to varying degrees.

I don’t mind (probably because I’m a card-carrying liberal), but my red state coworkers were aghast.
August 22, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Y’all apparently never were subjected to mandatory corporate training on these things. Really, people rarely use these terms in the real world, but you wouldn’t know it if you had to do yearly online training on micro aggressions.

I loved the show and didn’t realize it was a book series. I’ll have to pick it up!

Done! My dad’s gonna love it.

Wow, there’s some hate on here! They’re doing a good thing and trying to help. Let’s leave it at that.

Ugh, I don’t like audio and subtitles are slow and unreliable. I much prefer to read what y’all have to say.

The replies to your link hint that it’s right. But, for me in deep red rural America, I like having the moral support of other users with similar viewpoints, since I can’t find them in my local area.

I remember two courses well from my time at UT twenty years ago. One was an art history class about the Wild West, and one was a course on the history of the vampire in Slavic cultures. Both of these courses would be “frivolous”, but they were the only ones that really stuck with me.

Sorry, I meant the officer. I agree, the dude with the rifle is highly unlikely to pass on the favor.

The failure is when others are not treated as well as this gun-toting dipshit. Rather than being angry that someone isn't being violently attacked by an officer, we should hope he has the same attitude when dealing with other groups. We need cops to be impartial, and vilifying them doesn't help.
