Poem, "The New Colossus" by Emma Lazarus. Lazarus's sonnet, written in 1883, was inscribed on a bronze plaque inside the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in 1903 and became a symbol of American ideals of freedom and welcoming immigrants. Florine Stehttheimer's New York–Liberty (1919) a painting depicts a Manhattan cityscape with the Statue of Liberty and a navy ship in the foreground. It is part of the permanent collection at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.

My Ecuadorian neighbors vanished after the election. Fear, maybe, they won’t say.

Al Pacino as Michael Corleone in "The Godfather Part II" (1974). This film is both a sequel and a prequel to "The Godfather" (1972). Two of the greatest films ever made (IMHO). Also, my two favorite films ☺️.
