Lana “Sati” Chornohorska, volunteer fighter, drone operator, artist & journalist, was killed on 1 January in southern Ukraine by an enemy drone.

She volunteered from the first days and in 2024 joined the Ukrainian Volunteer Army as a drone pilot & navigator.

🕯️Australian volunteer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Russell Allan Wilson, died on December 12, 2025, in the Donetsk region during his final mission before planned leave — just one week before his scheduled wedding.

Denis Kapustin, founder and commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps, was killed overnight on the Zaporizhzhia front. According to the unit, he died while carrying out a combat mission, preliminary reports point to an FPV drone strike.

They laid down their lives for Ukraine and Europe

💔Antoni Lallikan, French photojournalist, was killed by a Russian FPV drone in Donetsk region.

Hryhorii Ivanchenko, photographer for Kyiv Independent, worked alongside Antoni. Both journalists were wearing bulletproof vests with PRESS written on them. Hryhorii was injured but is stable.

Shan-Le Kearns, a 26-year-old volunteer from New Zealand, died defending Ukraine.

His death was confirmed by family. They said Shan-Le wasn't on the front line but had been trained in combat when he arrived there so he could help rescue those who were injured on the battlefield.

They laid down their lives not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe!

Famous Ukrainian film director Stanislav Prytula was killed while carrying out a combat mission on January 22.He was 40.

Stanislav abandoned his directing career & a job with the Ukrainian State Film Agency to join the AFU during the first days of the war.
