I used to do something like that. Now I do the Window Key+x u u thing. I don't have a command prompt open as often as I used to.

I have about 35 years of Unix and Linux experience as a software developer. But my daily driver at home is Windows 11. This is primarily because of gaming. Linux has come a long way in gaming, but it's not there yet. If I need Linux at home I usually run it in a virtual machine.

Microsoft has an app called "PC Health Check". You can install from their support site. The app has a Check now button on its main screen to see if your pc will support Windows 11.

For example if I run it on an old Windows 10 laptop I have it shows this.
