There are a thousand things Dems could be collectively doing ahead of the reconvening of Congress.

Suddenly reminded of the "select the square with the Finnish sniper" meme. 😂

(That's not a declaration of support for the Iraq campaign, but we had people arguing against any kind of military reprisal against **Afghanistan** immediately after 9/11, "because we deserved it", or similar nonsense.

Those people couldn't be allowed to claim a mandate following a Kerry win)

Good article. I liked one passage in particular (below).

I've voted straight D for nearly 20 years, but I voted for GW in 2004, and would REPEAT that vote today because of this one statement.

2004 turned into a larger argument over whether ANY war is justified. I'll never side with "no" on that Q.

Not restraint, collaboration.

Those inclined to argue that 65 "is still old" should do a quick google of Madonna's age, then get back to us.

(Spoiler: She's 67... two years older than Dr N. I'm still trying to wrap my head around that concept. 😂)

Once they solve the "robot collapses when remote operator disconnects" problem, they'll be all set!

A Maduro loyalist with a Stinger missile could do something really funny in a couple days...

Since the 2024 election, Legacy Media has become more and more about promoting and defending the interests of billionaires.

If one of their toys creates CSAM, the only appropriate response (in their eyes) is to blame the technology, not the owner responsible for it.

(The latter would be blasphemy)

Only one comment to the original post at this point, and it's making the exact same joke I
was thinking of. 😂

Strongly suspect their definition of "The Average American" matches that of "The Real American", in turn matching that of the self-styled Herrenvolk.

No. Thank. You.

I'm firmly in the "individualism" side of the fence, but I tend to interpret Mamdani's remark as:

"All those Externalities that economists call 'someone else's problem'? We're going to rein those in."

Jony Ives and his ilk seem to have an almost deranged loathing for visual interfaces, but the information bandwidth they provide is unmatched.

One simply CANNOT create any kind of non-visual device and expect it to remotely compete with any kind of screen (be it tablet, phone, or watch).

Granted, the AI models attached to most smartwatches are terrible (Siri, this means you), but that can be fixed "on the back-end".

You DON'T need to introduce a whole new category of product that does far less than a smartwatch already does today.

A device that JUST provides a verbal interface to an AI is a fool's errand – an obfuscated way to burn VC cash and nothing more.

We already have a device that provides readily-available AI access AND provides large amounts of functionality on top of that. It's called a smartwatch.
