It’s still a fun book. Hell, the first half of the movie is pretty fun too. I will reference the scene where they make fun of Varg’s Scorpions patch when I see that patch at shows.

That book is basically fan fiction. It was really the first and only comprehensive source of info for so long that its mythology just won out. Every other primary source, interviews, stories, etc contradict so much of it. However some people in the early scene still want to cultivate that mythology

I’ve never been a big fan outside of a couple of the hits, Symphony of Destruction, Holy Wars, and Tornado of Souls. I once went to see them because Children of Bodom was opening. We left after CoB played.
