MaskTogetherAmerica on Instagram: "“My husband Ted and I got our COVlD and Flu shots at CVS. We were the only ones masked. Since spring 2020, neither of us have had cold, flu, or COVlD. Last respiratory episode I had was March 2020. I have asthma. I used to complain loudly when I couldn’t get a flu shot because when I didn’t, it took me a long time to recover from it, and I usually also got bronchitis.” Suzanne Uratani ( @808soos ) always masks up to protect herself and her family. Her husband (in the picture) was diagnosed with ascending aortic aneurysm in 2023. Her son, who lives in Seattle, is immunocompromised. Suzanne is very worried because he’s having difficulty getting regular prescriptions filled, as well as an getting the COVlD booster. Her son said that Walgreens pharmacy counter is full of folks from Oregon because the booster isn’t available in their state. And insurance won’t pay for his shot unless he gets it at his doctor’s office which might not have them. Thank you Ted and Suzanne from Honolulu, Hawaii for sharing with #masktogetheramerica the brutal reality—why we need to have equity in prevention."
