The NIAID (division of HHS) released a new vision statement in the journal Nature (paywalled!). This particular part is maddening. It implies that clinicians and researchers just keep pounding away with antibiotics without considering clinical status.

Kidron Volunteer Fire Department rescued a horse named Frosty who fell through ice last week. Frosty was cold and tired but able to stand on her own afterward and got the all clear from veterinarian.
There's a cop too but he does nothing.
