As a person watching the mental decline of your country from the other side of the pond, I feel sorry for you and hope it'll get better soon.
PV/EV wise we are in the same page but it constantly surprises me why so many people see it as a cost not investment in future savings and reliability.

Same here. PV+EV. The infrastructure here is not that bad anymore. The prices of comparable EVs are similar to ICE so that's also not a problem but for some reason it's seen as a political statement and people have very strong opinions about it. We will adopt EV but probably with slower pace than EU

We had subsidies for BEVs but they just ended. 2025 saw spike in EV registration but it's still much less than ICE cars being registered. With incentives gone I think the EV will be bought but won't be a majority for a long time.

In Poland we have none! Really haven't seen one. During my trips via Austria or Germany seen something like that at Ionity Himmelkron although not exactly. The most surprising thing there was a bucket with water to wipe your windshield. Normal on gas station, only seen once on a charger.

This charger setup is so rare that I think I'll never tow a trailer with my ID.4. Not because it can't but just the idea of unhooking it for charge on some narrow parking is just weird, uncomfortable and a lot of hustle.

Building new hubs is great but the power of 400 kW is more than enough. I would even say that I'd welcome more reliable 200 kW hubs. On the other hand I'm talking as an owner of 135 kW max car taking road trips with family when 20 min charging is simply too short. Car is usually ready before we are

Poland thanks to low base and good incentives that are only available till February.

They will fall into the water when they'll try to enter the car?
December 12, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Precisely, they lost customers for their petrol products not customers in general. Even with EV I'm often a customer of gas station just because they are on the same highway stop as chargers and the have toilets, coffee, something to eat, place to sit. They will need to adapt more to this in future.

Mój wewnętrzny Poznaniak płakał gdy to przeczytał. Niby bait ale sama myśl, że można by takie świetokradztwo popełnić, boli wewnętrznie.
Raz na zawsze. Plyndze tylko i wyłącznie z cukrem! Koniec tematu!

Tu też trzeba osobiście bo pobierają odciski itp. ale samo umówienie się i odbiór jest bezproblemowy
September 23, 2025 at 2:29 PM

Our grand children will wonder why didn't we know better. How could we be so mindless the same way we think about our ancestors who drove species into extinction, used leaded fuel, made kids work in mines. They're not gonna be thankful

Panie, normalnie jak człowiek postaw pan na tym zOS a nie jakieś nowoczesne wymysły... Jeszcze pewnie w Cobolu się nie chce pisać.
August 15, 2025 at 8:41 PM
I think the downsides are mostly solved already. 1) planning is done by navigation software in a car so it just tell you when and for how long to stop 2) in EU DC chargers are usually next to gas stations or shipping centers so the patience for waiting is also mostly solved

Ze skórką daleko ode mnie!

But that's partially your fault. You promote BEVs and more and more of them are on the roads 😉

A u nas wielka radość bo znaleźli ropę koło Wolina. Tej ropy to tak na 10 miesięcy...

They balance the consumption and production in December for me. After buying an EV I need to pay for the grid consumption that exceeds 80% of my production fed back. Anyway I'm also very happy with it. It's so good system that you can't use it anymore in Poland. New PVs are on net billing.

I'm from Poland, I do have PV on my roof but I'm a bit of eco freak. Still I am amazed how many solar panels we have in this conservative coal power state. This June marked the first month when renewable generated more electricity that fossils! Incredible transformation in last few years.
July 17, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Poland here, very similar take on this. My rooftop PV is on net metering so basically 80% of what I feed to the grid I can reuse withing a year. Still I try to use it directly with delayed starts and scheduled charging. Although not mid westener that 20% still hurts a bit 😉
July 17, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Very similar in Poland😉

Last year around this time it was the opposite in Spain. Severe drought with water shortages and limits. Our climate is out of balance like a pendulum from one far end to the other.

Ale pisałem o normalnych samochodach typu nowy model y czy 3 a nie śmietniku na kołach 😉
