Keeping my eye on the storms brewing in the Northwest. Alaska should be gearing up for an immediate response if needed. Being prepared to assist in the face of disasters is a primary responsibility of our Government. Cont'd

For many of us Alaskans, the PFD is essential. Yet this year’s check is among the lowest ever, forcing families into impossible choices. We need a formula Alaskans can count on. One that's affordable, true to our share of Alaska’s oil wealth, and puts the 'permanent' back in Permanent Fund Dividend.

“As Minority Leader in the Senate, Tom knew how to listen, he knew how to lead, and he knew how to get things done.

Those are the skills we need now to secure our future. He’ll fight for a fair share of our resources, better schools, and a fair shake for regular Alaskans. That’s just who he is.”

“I’m excited to support Tom Begich for Governor because he has the vision and determination to pursue new, viable opportunities that strengthen our economy, and the skill and temperament to bring people together to find and implement solutions to our challenges.”

There's nothing rural Alaska trusts less than a new energy “study,” and with good reason. Rural Alaska deserves real plans to keep their communities strong and cut bills come winter. They know what they need, about time they had a governor who listened (3/3). tinyurl.com/zax09
Rural Alaska Deserves More Than Promises By Tom Begich
Alaska faces unique energy challenges, from the railbelt to remote fishing camps. In rural Alaska, where families face the highest energy costs in the country,

The Railbelt is suffering under crushing rate hikes and overall energy costs twice the U.S. average. It’s time we put Alaska’s energy security first and move past politics as usual to embrace Alaskan innovation and harness every resource at our disposal (2/3). tinyurl.com/tbyh8
Opinion: Alaska’s energy security must come first | Homer News
By putting Alaska’s energy security first, we can create a system that is fair, sustainable, and built for the long haul.

Multi-week power outages, annual rate increases in excess of 10% or more, and a grid less reliable than 2/3rds of the country. Alaska deserves a reliable, affordable energy plan that works for all of us, whether you live in the Railbelt or our most rural communities (1/3).

This recent news, if which appears to have been verified by our Legislative leaders and the Governor, creates a serious breach of the public trust. The Permanent Fund is our future. Reckless investments risk everyone’s livelihood. Hidden actions break the public trust.

As #SuicidePreventionMonth ends, my thoughts are with our veterans, LGBTQ+ youth, and Alaska Native community. The deaths your communities endure are appalling, and I grieve your losses with you. Alaska is facing an epidemic of suicide, it’s time we acted like it.

For the third time this month Washington has slammed Alaska’s families and Alaska's efforts to lower energy costs as winter sets in. We must safeguard our energy future and ensure cheap, reliable, and renewable energy for the the Railbelt, Southeast, and Rural Alaska now.

Opportunities for career and technical education like this give young Alaskans a pathway into those careers. They keep jobs here, they keep families here, and they strengthen our economy. This action by the Administration is shortsighted and hurts Alaska.

Think about where Alaska’s economy is. We will always need welders, electricians, mechanics & builders. We’ll need workers trained to help build & maintain a gas pipeline, advance new affordable energy projects, & build and maintain the infrastructure we need in this state - and the needs are many.

As Governor, I will work in partnership with private industry, Alaska Native organizations, and our communities to ensure that both rural and urban Alaska have access to affordable, alternative energy sources.

High energy costs continue to ripple outward in Alaska. It pulls teachers out of classrooms, forces families to leave their homes and communities, hinders economic opportunity, and pushes too many Alaskans into poverty. This cannot be our future.
tombegichforalaska.bsky.social
As your next governor, I will work across partisan divides and ensure every Alaskan has the opportunity to succeed. When paths to success are provided, especially in cutting-edge technologies, we not only strengthen Alaska's future, but we also become leaders in it.

If we want to succeed as a state, we must invest in our greatest asset—the Alaskan people. Cutting off those opportunities makes it harder to tackle the real challenges we face—high energy prices, workforce recruitment, and the need for a stronger economy.

Decisions that limit opportunity for Alaska Natives and other Alaskans do not move our state forward. These grants opened doors for students who are working to build skills, strengthen their communities, and prepare Alaska to lead in the Arctic in science and engineering.
