Not so sure about London buses, but most buses around where I live, and most others in the counties/cities I have visited. But those tend to be longer distance (non-electric) ones, since they’re not in London city centre.

Is “fuel” in Direct Electrification batteries? Or ‘direct’ as in over cables with no battery store, in which case it would be energy lost to eg cable resistance?

Nice long drives can only happen with low congestion and out of residential areas, i.e. out of cities! We can have both walkable cities and beautiful country roads!
