De reden dat Annick De Ridder bespaart op sportevenementen en -instituten voor een breed en inclusief publiek, maar het budget verhoogt voor topsport, is dezelfde als om die compleet inefficiënte en dure fietsersbrug over de Schelde te bouwen: ego en prestige zijn belangrijker dan de samenleving.

Nu nog iets vinden dat werkt tegen het proto-Trumpisme van Francken et al. dat hier al 20 jaar geworteld is, en de Waalse tegenhanger die ook in de ketel met drogretoriek is gevallen.

I wonder whether "Black MAGA" are perhaps just sick of being Black - with a capital B, I mean. Perhaps they just want to be "people with black skin color", rather than also having to "be Black" and thus adhere to a cultural and historical context/structure that seems to come with that color of skin?

After the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk, it was natural that his allies, including Trump, lionized him as a patriot, free-speech advocate, and activist.

Here’s the problem: Kirk built his movement with falsehoods. And his advocacy was laced with racist and bigoted statements.

Precies.

"Het volk" gelooft dat de realiteit een Hobbesiaans, tribaal, zero-sum conflict-zonder-einde is. (Althans: "dat wordt beweerd", door "sommigen" aan een bepaalde kant van het politieke spectrum...) Dus als je mensenrechten belangrijk vindt (steljevoor!), dan ben je vanzelf "de elite". Easy!

De directe en indirecte kosten voor de samenleving betreffende salariswagens lopen in de _miljarden euro's_, en heel dat chequeverhaal vereist een complexiteit die ook overal tijd, energie en geld bloedt dat uiteindelijk door de belastingbetaler moet gecovered worden. Weg ermee!
