Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake). The presentation for the DS is great, especially the voice acting given to each character. Everything remains pretty faithful, though the once easy difficulty has been greatly ramped up. Boss fights have tons of counters which made the game hard and annoying at times.

Ghost of Yotei. I didn't feel the same magic as I did with Tsushima. The story is the same revenge tale you've seen a million times. The gameplay is much improved from the original, I felt no desire to explore or 100% like I did with Tsushima. Objectively fantastic, but never hit for me.

Yomawari: Midnight Shadows. Better than the first, but still tedious. The story is a marked improvement with some clever twists. The gameplay though has all the same problems as the original. Deaths coming from out of nowhere, and awful checkpoints resulting in long walks back ruin this experience.

Here's hoping they get someone who is less of a jackass

Yomawari: Night Alone. Likely my last finished game for 2025, and not a great one to go out on. While great on being spooky, the gameplay is frustrating trial-and-error, and wasting time walking back after tons on unfair deaths. Couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Silent Hill f. A mixed bag leaning towards great. Story was exceptional and worth replaying. The first half had masterful atmosphere and exploration. Combat is fine, nowhere as bad as someone claim, but there's way too much of it, especially in the second half.

As someone who was pretty content with what we got, I respect the hell out of the team for pushing through

Even as someone who greatly enjoyed this game, this is 100% the right thing to do, and I hope more take this stance going forward.
