Thanks! It's just for the eldest daughter tomorrow, and 4 of her mates, but Sunday, I shall have to be forcibly removed 😅

Told all my colleagues I'll be working from the hot tub for the foreseeable! Need to find a laptop flotation device 😅

We only hired it for a week, but the chap we hired it from is going on holiday next week for a couple weeks, so we have it for 3 🙂

Album #357 - Wrench by Flycatcher

Have listened to this 5 or 6 times now, it's just a really good and solid indie rock album. Extremely listenable, and for a debut album, I'm struggling to find fault. They have a sound that could belong in the 00s. 9/10

Album #356 - Lucius by Lucius

The vocals on this are magnificent; really, really powerful and impactful harmonies throughout. Musically and melodically it's pretty spot on too, it just tapers out a bit in places. Will be listening to their previous outputs! 8/10

Album #355 - Good For You by Houndmouth

These have a bluesy, folky, Americana-y, and sometimes alt-country sound, and each song is like a little story. Has a Bob Dylan kinda feel to it. 8/10

Album #354 - Intersections by Into It. Over It.

Part of the 2010s emo-revival scene, which I've been becoming more familiar with recently. Not as strong as some of the other bands I've listened to, but pretty decent. Quite Death Cab For Cutie-esque. 7/10

Album #353 - States by The Paper Kites

They have over 7 million weekly Spotify listeners, yet I've never heard of them 🤷‍♂️ They have that indie-folk sound which I usually adore, even touching on alt-country at times, but overall I found it a bit too somber. 6/10

Just salt. Disregarded Hugh Fearnleys method which I've been using for years and it came out almost perfect!

It was amazing. Crackling came out good too - modern day miracle! 🥳

I'll give some of their earlier albums a listen, for sure. They're on the cusp of having a sound i really like!

Album #352 - Wisher by Ben Quad

Released today, a more mature offering from Ben Quad. Heavy midwest emo vibes but very melodic and with screamo elements. It's a very cohesive album, well produced, and another great 2025 emo release; there's been a few! 8/10

Album #351 - Small Talk by Whitney

I've heard of these but never heard them. Reminds me of earlier Bon Iver, but with more of an alt-country twang. It's very soulful, has a 70s folk-rock sound. I like them but don't think i can get more enthused than that. 7/10

Album #350 - Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party by Hayley Williams

I found this quite boring for large parts. It seemed as though minimal effort was put into a lot of the songs, musically. Some decent songs amongst these, but few and far between. Unimpressed. 5/10
