Biochemist now sampling carbs and proteins mostly via oral route. Music, books, comedy, and sports fan. Tennis junkie. Anglophile. Waves to ISS.
Big fan of the NHL, family is of Welsh/Scottish descent, and former resident of Columbus (many years before the Jackets started). Mostly follow the Canes but will watch any game that's on if/when the really good national announcers are on the call. Cheers to you all from the States.

Wonderful news. So happy for you.

Just heard a great road song for the first time - Billy Idol covering The Doors' L.A. Woman.

Have had the pleasure of seeing her in a small venue with superb acoustics a few years ago. Signed a CD and t-shirt for us after the show. Still making great music.

Paul G is such a unique talent, one of my fav actors. Makes every film so much better. He must have gotten a kick out of playing those 2 roles so closely together.

Amazing performance. Such a tough role and he nailed it.

Paul was superb as the young Brian. Very compelling expressing Brian's struggles.

I feel that way a lot. Perfectly normal (imo). We never know what others are going through, but it still creates stress on us when folks act weird, or have an agenda of some sort. Hope your evening is much better.

Great episode. Sorkin's writing in both series never ceases to amaze me. Just saw that West Wing is coming back to Netflix this week. Perfect timing.

Spot on. I feel the same about The Newsroom. Eerie how predictive they both were.

Love the Dennis Drake remaster of Sleeping Satellites on the Modern Rock Early 90s compilation. Now listening to a lot more of your music. Late to the party, but it's great discovering your talents.

Happy b'day and hope you have a great one. All best wishes for your treatments.

These songs still resonate with me, even better now that a few excellent remastering engineers have brought out details often missed in standard recordings. A good example from Dionne's catalog is Promises, Promises. Such a hard song to sing, and Dionne nails it.

Their body of work remains mind-bogglingly good. Kudos to the ladies and Holland-Dozier-Holland for incredible tunes that created a new standard for pop-soul top-40 music.

Agree 100%. So tired of being in "hopeful but not optimistic" mode. The hopeful part never materializes.

Loved seeing the birds on our feeders growing up in the Finger Lakes, esp. in winter. Cardinals were my favs. Get a few regularly down here in NC.

Also a 2x OSU grad. Didn't know "The" is part of the official name of the school until receiving the 1st diploma. Same for Penn State, and probably a bunch of others. Always amazed at how much sobbing was going on in the stadium while walking out after losses.

McCarthy seems to be going through a lot of what Bryce Young experienced in his first few years. Some ups but a lot of downs as they learn. Bryce has gotten much better but remains inconsistent week to week.

Yep, no doubt. Sucks when teams give up their decent QBs bc the new coach or GM wants "their guy". Most teams need 2 competent QBs to have any chance at the post-season. Happy that Baker and Sam have excelled on their new teams.

No rush with me, enjoy reading your posts.

it's such a crapshoot with QBs. We had Mayfield and Darnold on the Panthers briefly and they were OK but nowhere near how they're playing now. I would boycott as well bc of Rodgers.

Understand completely. I was in that place 2 months ago and it still hurts. Time is helping but connections to friends and family are everything. Peace and comfort to you and yours.

Big fan of Juice's stellar albums Juice and Quiet Lies. They still get regular spins here. What a voice she had, and her band rocks. Angel indeed.

Mycology is a fascinating and underappreciated field. Used to work with fungal cultures in my prior job. Loved watching them propagate and form structured masses in the laboratory. Much more eye-opening to see them in the wild.

Exactly right. Any debate about the legitimacy of published results from this administration is a clear attempt to restrict access and cast doubt.
