Arts. Gilder. Oil, & traditional Water gilding.
Ophthalmic tech, Perimetry, plus.
Rocks.
History buff.... especially of the 1692 Salem witch trials.

- In the USA. *sigh*
Wow. Really captures a quietly astounding beauty -and reminds me too, it’s a beauty that I so often overlook, because I’m stupidly busy, or too overwhelmed with the times, to pause, and look, and enjoy.

What a beautiful board….the designs on it are amazing. How fortunate it survived.
Puts modern boards to shame, in my opinion.
Thanks for posting it.

Offering a copy up now. Pretty exciting. (Esp with your well known and admired work on the gallows hill project!) this book should expand my view of Salem.
Excellent.

Love the whole premise… civil war period sounds very interesting because I’m curious about the background for Upham, Fowler etc.
plus the descendants… an area I’m intrigued by… the migration out, and why.
Very cool

Thank you for the insight! A fascinating story, and tragedy. It's no wonder that generations of people have looked to it.

Such a tragic day. I wonder sometimes about how hard it is to see at the time when something is wrong, like this. And then, sometimes I wonder what we're missing now, today, similarly. History's got many facets to learn from and should be valued more. Thank you for your knowledge that you share.

Nice! For me, some pictures, like yours, come along and it's as if I see myself - and the now, and also really see how the then, the ancient times, still survive with us, subtle, but eloquently.
aurgh... probably way too many words. Maybe I need more coffee.
Great pic, thanks.
